God and the Devil Are One and the Same

God and the Devil are one and the same.

Eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge

And see the truth of divinity’s game.

Not the game of the red cardinal college,

Which elects an infallible pervert

Every time the pope dies—like a hydra!—

But the pagan game as old as the dirt.

A child comes to the masked elder. Vibrant

Colors cover her face. The child is scared

And trembling. She faints and falls to the ground.

The elder comes with her rainbow masked glare;

The bones of her staff make rattling sounds.

The elder puts the mask upon the child;

From the dust rises the Devil God wild.
